Cory's Room

Now they have Cory's room framed in. I guess they did get a lot of work done today despite the wind (again!).

And also the cool window over the stairway.

And some of the sheating on the master bedroom.

Horrible Weather

The framers have been battling a horrible spring weather pattern that has produced horrible wind through the framing process. We got the trusses up last week and then got a foot of snow. After the snow melted and they were able to get back out to the house, the wind showed up again. Putting sheathing up on the roof when it is this windy is probably very dangerous, so they didn't work yesterday. They did work over the weekend, so they are trying to keep up with the work.

I'm not really sure where they are on septic and water line which they were going to do last Thursday when we got our snow. We are also supposed to get snow tomorrow and on Friday again. I haven't looked at a new forecast, so need to check with Wayne.

It is sunny and calm right now, so hopefully they're getting some work done today. They now have a lift to help get all the material up to the roof for them so they don't have to carry it up and down. More pictures hopefully this afternoon.

Crane & Big Trusses

Today they put the vaulted ceilings in the great room as well as the master bedroom and over the kids rooms. They will do the garage and back porch next week.

Trusses are Going Up

Last week they started putting up the smaller trusses that they could do by hand. They haven't had the crane out yet, but plan to get them all up in one day to avoid mulitple days with the crane.

Columns for Back Porch

Columns for the back porch are awaiting something to happen...

This week they should start excavating for the septic tank. They will move some of the top soil dirt from the pasture and stir it up a bit so it will be ready for landscaping at the end.

Tyler's Room

Yesterday they finished framing Tyler's room and the jack and jill bath that will be between his and Cory's rooms. Cory was bummed that his didn't get framed in yet, but they are going to get the trusses up and then frame it from the trusses.

Front Porch & Second Floor

We now have the front porch done and floor joists in on the second floor. Today they should be framing some of the second floor and by the end of the week we should be able to see some trusses up.

I haven't posted because we are just so busy with trying to sell our house, which is going OK, but the inspection indicated "possible" mold. Ugh. The buyers kids have respiratory problems, so they have asked for an extension on the inspection notice and are having a mold inspector come tomorrow to check. I really hope this isn't the case. I'm also wondering if it is mold, if we can just mitigate it and call it a day, or if this will be enough for them to walk. They walked on their last contract, so it isn't inconceivable. More later this week on this story, I'm sure.

Under Contract

I haven't updated in awhile, but the house is coming along. They have steel beams in place to support the second floor, finished framing the garage and are now starting to sheet the garage in. They also completed pilaster columns for the back porch and should have the front porch poured by Friday. We had to make some changes to the master bath and after a few times having to tear out the walls, I think we have it nailed. I also changed my mind on the refrigerator based on feedback I've gotten from friends on the KitchenAid. We decided to go with the GE Profile. We chose stucco, stone and roof colors today and are now just trying to determine how dark to do the stucco frames around the windows.

I will try to post some pictures this evening.

So now for the real news and the title of this post. We sold our house!! Or, at least we went under contract today.

Steel Beams and Pilaster Columns

As promised, here are the pictures of the steel beams for the second floor and the pilaster columns for the back deck.
